This story is heartbreaking…and inspiring at the same time. This story touched people and people responded with compassion and empathy and love.
An Ohio man and his wife lost their newborn baby after just 6 short weeks of life due to complications from a tumor on her liver. She was born this way and spent her entire life in the hospital connected to wires and tubes.
The man never got a picture to remember her without all the tubes and wires. Taking a random shot in the dark, he threw out a request to Reddit listeners with photoshop experience to see if they could alter the picture and remove all the tubes and wires.
And the beauty that was received in return was amazing.

Nathen Steffel, who posted the request, sent a brief statement to TODAY Parents.
“I didn’t really want all the publicity, I just wanted a picture,” Steffel wrote in an email. “What I received was a whole lot of love and support from complete strangers.”
